Tasting Notes

NOSE

Fruity and fresh, with a slight meaty side. Lots of citrus fruit, grain and even yeast. Very new make-ish. Heather and stewed apples.

TASTE

Very light on the pallet. Again, lots of citrus, but also loads of grain. Nice spiciness.

FINISH

The finish is short and sweet.

Linkwood Distillery

Founded in 1821 - Linkwood has a strong cult following, and is much sought after by whisky enthusiasts. It is considered a noble malt, produced at one of the region’s oldest distilleries. It was founded in open land but is now part of the expanding town of Elgin. Nevertheless, sighted by a reservoir, it is in a pretty area.
What sets it apart from many other whisky producers is the fact that there are two distilleries on one site. The original distillery was built in 1870s, doubling the capacity. Then in 1971 a whole new distillery was built.
