Tasting Notes

NOSE

Fresh bread, stone fruit. Almost grappa like.

TASTE

Light, oily. Unripe stone fruit, peach. Green apple, florist shop.

FINISH

Fresh, warm, quick finish.

Mannochmore Distillery

Founded 1971 - Mannochmore Distillery’s main claim to fame is that it helped prove beyond any doubt that it is completely wrong to think that the darker a whisky the older it is. It doesn’t take much common sense to appreciate that the £10 bottle of deep mahogany blended whisky in the local supermarket hasn’t spent years in a quality cask.
A few years back a black Mannochmore, under the name of Loch Dhu was released. The color was a result of maturation and heavily charred barrels or from the addition of a substantial amount of caramel. Take your pick.
